Europe’s stock markets diverged in opening deals Thursday as investors digested the US interest rate outlook, while Frankfurt and Paris reopened from their May Day closure.
London’s FTSE 100 index gained 0.3 percent to 8,147.13 points compared with Wednesday’s close.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index slid 0.7 percent to 7,932.27 points and Frankfurt’s DAX was marginally lower at 17,929.94, compared with their closing levels on Tuesday.
